Greeters and Docents!

As a 501c3, the OHS relies on donations and volunteers to keep the center and organizations running. A group of enthusiast, locals, newcomers and generally just enjoy getting out and meeting people… the OHS is made up of primarily people who take pride in preserving the history of Oakmont, PA. Please review the following positions needed to continue the historical societies efforts and click on the contact form and let us know.

Greeters:
Spend the afternoon at the History Center GREETING people and engaging with visitors. During museum hours, sit (along with another member) and greet visitors as they enter the History Center to take a look around at our towns history. Knowledge of Oakmont is not necessary… just your hello and smile.

Docents:
Spend the afternoon at the History Center as a guide through the center, answering questions and engaging with visitors in their questions and stories about our town. Instructions, assistance & support will be provided by experienced Volunteers.
