Oakmont is a pleasant community located 12 miles northeast of Pittsburgh along the banks of the Allegheny River. The borough was established in 1889. The first settler, Michael Bright arrived in 1816 and was followed by other early residents including Jonathon Hulton, Caleb Lee, Isabella Greer and John King. Oakmont is known for its tree-lined streets, pleasant residential areas, vibrant business district and parks & recreational facilities. The residents take pride in the history and heritage of their town.
